Antler/Skull Restoration

Almost any antler set or skull can be restored. With the products used today in whitening amazing results are possible. If you have an old European Mount that has yellowed or discolored it can be brought back to a deep clean white. With the popularity of European Mounts many are going back to find their trophy skull hung on the fence or set on the ant hill and having it  finished or restored. Often these skulls have hair, hide and dried tissue still clinging on after several years. Seldom is a skull too far gone to be reclaimed. About the only negative is they are a bit nasty to work with but the finished product can be similar or indistinguishable from work of the current season. Antlers can also be restored to make a very nice wall mount. Coloring, staining, and repairing broken antlers can bring the original beauty back. Even antlers chewed by rodents are often repairable. If you are still in doubt about your antlers or skull take a couple of digital pictures and e-mail them to your taxidermist. He is best qualified to give you a professional opinion.
